The story behind the ring

Inspired by a grave on a small cemetery in Belgium and by ancient Egyptian jewellery, this ring came to life. It symbolises the life cycle, life and death, our time on earth. In ancient Egypt it was believed that the wearer of a cartouche with ones name in it, will be protected from bad spirits in life after death. The shoulders and band of the ring are bones that represent the cemetery where I found my inspiration for this ring. Over the years it has adapted a new meaning representing protection from evil and good luck. The symbols all represent a part of Memento Mori, a reminder to live life fully and without fear of our fate.
